NEWS: $72M Ovarian Cancer Trial Sets Precedent for Future Lawsuits

A February 22, 2016 talc-related ovarian cancer trial held in Missouri ends with $72 million settlement to the family of a woman who died from ovarian cancer after using Johnson & Johnson’s baby powder and other products containing talcum. This precedent-setting trial supports the efforts of Glen Lerner Injury Attorneys who offers free class action claim reviews for women and their family members who claim to have been harmfully affected by use of talcum powder.

U.S.A. (May 30, 2016) Glen Lerner Injury Attorneys officially announce they are currently reviewing class action claims for women who have developed ovarian cancer after using baby powder and other products containing talcum. Recently, a jury awarded the family of a wrongful death victim $72 million in a talcum-related ovarian cancer trial against Johnson & Johnson that took place in St. Louis, MO. The lawsuit states that the victim had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer following prolonged use of Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Powder and Shower-to-Shower Powder for feminine hygiene purposes. She began using the products in 1972 and died in 2011.

This successful wrongful death suit came just three years after the first baby powder cancer lawsuit was won in 2013 by a 56-year-old-women who was also diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Her case was based on the allegation that Johnson & Johnson purposefully hid the potential risks to women who use talc powder as a feminine hygiene product.

“Our law firm provides no out-of-pocket cost case reviews for women who were diagnosed with ovarian cancer and have a history of using talcum powder for personal hygiene,” said attorney Glen Lerner. “Our attorneys work diligently to investigate each claim presented to us to help determine whether or not a possible lawsuit may be brought against Johnson & Johnson and/or other defendants. We believe that manufacturers should be held liable if they decide to put profit over the well-being of consumers.”
